EU hands over automatic passenger temperature control systems to Ukrainian border guards

The European Union provided the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine with two stationary temperature screening systems worth the total of 1 million hryvnias, the agency’s press service reported.

The press release further stated that the temperature screening system has already been in operation for several days at one of Boryspil Airport’s terminals. It helps border guards identify passengers with the symptoms of fever while only minimally disturbing the airport’s normal operation and reducing the risk of spreading infection, because it enables instant contactless check of the passenger’s temperature at a  distance.

It is worth noting that earlier, the EU also provided the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the State Customs Service with personal protective equipment and contactless infrared thermometers for safe and continuous handling by both agencies of persons and goods crossing the Ukrainian border.

Even though the adaptive quarantine still hasn’t been lifted, Ukraine is gradually reopening its borders. Regular flights are resuming, the vacation season continues, and therefore, special equipment for automated check of the passenger’s temperature is extremely necessary and important.

It is worth reminding that a chat bot about the border crossing regulations was launched for Ukrainians.

As we wrote earlier, the border guards showed what the state border of Ukraine looks like.
